The American Red Cross deployed Dr. Quiring to the Alabama/Mississippi Gulf coast area to volunteer. The Red Cross Headquarters for this disaster is located in Montgomery, Alabama. While in Montgomery, he was assigned to the Client Services area at the local Montgomery chapter. He was out of the office from September 10-20, 2005.

Alcon Laboratories generously donated a large supply of ocular antibiotics and artificial tear supplements valued at almost $5,000. Dr. Quiring delivered them to Medical Services at Headquarters and they distributed them to shelters and are being dispensed to hurricane victims. Alcon Humanitarian Services has a long history of generosity throughout the world.  Thank you very much Alcon!

Dr. Quiring also purchased 250 pairs of over-the-counter reading glasses that he took with him to Alabama. They were distributed to Mississippi and Alabama gulf coast shelters for those that lost their reading glasses.

Office Expansion, Remodeling and Brand New,
State-Of-The-Art Examining Equipment
07/08/2004

The Optical Shoppe has just finished a complete remodeling of the examination room that Dr. Quiring is using. The new exam room is also being completely redecorated and is twice the size as the previous one!

To furnish the new examination room is a complete line of brand new, top-of-the-line examining equipment. Patients will be examined with the latest testing equipment, ensuring them the latest diagnostic procedures and highly precise eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions.

There is also brand new equipment in the pre-testing area too! Included are new instruments for glaucoma testing as well as an instrument for automatically obtaining a "close-to-final" prescription for patients. This computerized measurement is then refined and fine-tuned by Dr. Quiring; reaching the patient's final prescription. This instrument also measures the exact shape of the eye for more precise and comfortable contact lens fittings.

The dispensary is also has been freshly painted to give a new look and feel to the office. Also in the near future, you will see a new front desk area that will be even more organized to manage your family's vision needs.

Look for new and fresh eyeglass frame styles too! The Optical Shoppe, Inc. is continuously updating their frame selection making sure that you will be able to select frames from the latest and most popular styles available today.

Stop in anytime to check out the wonderful job that Joe and Kerry are doing at the office! Thanks for all your hard work Joe and Kerry!
