Dr. Russ Quiring prides himself in providing very thorough eye examinations. He allows his patients as much time as they need to make sometimes difficult lens choices, and even triple checks their responses. And as a final check, he uses an optical trial frame with the patient's "chair prescription" to "fine tune" their prescription with additional lenses for "real world" distance viewing (across Main Street looking at a Stop sign on Beech Street, near the post office) to achieve their best possible prescription. Informative Eyecare
Dr. Quiring believes that every eye examination should be a very informative experience for each and every patient. He explains each test so that patients know what to expect and what they need to do for him. He also informs his patients of all their available options; allowing and encouraging them to make their own informed, eyecare health choices.

After completing your examination, he explains the results of each and every test that was performed as well as details about every aspect of their eye health, prescriptions and contact lenses... including what the patient could (or should do) to ensure that their eyes remain healthy with clear and healthy vision... including contact lenses that block harmful Ultra-Violet light that has been shown to create cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (ARMD).

Dr. Quiring always introduces himself to each and every patient and always greets his patients with a smile. He wants his patients to feel at home and welcome. After the examination, he offers his patients a heart-felt "thank you," hands them his business card and their prescriptions, and he asks them to call him if they have any problems with their new eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.

His personal treatment philosophy is to treat every patient as though they are a family member and friend... and he would like to think that his patients will be friends for years to come. He always gives his home and cellular telephone numbers to his post-operative LASIK refractive surgical patients and cataract surgical patients.

Dr. Quiring cares for your entire family. From examining preschoolers who don't know their letters (he uses a specially designed eye chart with recognizable pictures for distance vision testing and also near testing) to parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Dr. Russell Quiring began practicing independently next to The Optical Shoppe, Inc. in Cortez, Colorado in August, 2004. His practice is devoted to family vision care with a strong emphasis in the fitting of contact lenses, especially those that are difficult-to-fit.

Dr. Quiring also extensive experience in post-operative care for both refractive and cataract surgery. He is authorized by the Colorado Board of Optometric Examiners to administer and prescribe therapeutic medications in the treatment and management of eye conditions and disease.
